Tonny read the message that Leo has left. Serim cried silently without showing her face to her friends and she was determined not to let Tonny die. Tonny felt his heart beats getting faster and faster as he read the note. He felt shock and the shock came hard. He forgot everything, where he was, what he was doing. Not because he had a heart attack, he fainted! They had to decide who was going to hold Tonny. Serim insisted that someone hold him instead of her. "Why?? You're the one who wants to save people."said Allison, surprised. But Minji understood and felt sympathy for Serim. She whispered to Serim, "You don't want to get close to him in case he dies, don't you??" Serim looked at her. She realized that Minji understood her. "Yes.."Serim whispered back. "Okay, guys. Rock Scissors Paper to see who carries Tonny. Remember, he is VERY heavy."said Allison, understanding the situation. The girls all laughed, a real laugh in a long time, the first time in the cottage. They all felt lighter. It could have been worse with no friends to accompany them at all. They all felt very lucky. Except Minji. She lost in Rock Scissors Paper and was holding Tonny, and she was grumbling of her every step. Everyone was happy, including Minji, nothing bad was happening to them. Yet. Suddenly a high voice called out to them, “Who are you?”. The girls jumped. They turned around at the high voice. Minji dropped Tonny by accident and Tonny woke up with a bang and got a lump on his head. But nobody looked at him. They were straining to hear the high pitched voice again. "Look!" hissed Chloe. Everyone turned to the direction Chloe was pointing. There was a small shadow. Serim quickly looked at what was making the shadow when the others were still looking at the shadow in dread. Serim laughed suddenly. "Hahaha!!! You think- Haha, that is a- Haha a ghost?-Haha!!" Serim's friends turned to look at what Serim was looking at. Why, why, it was a duckling!! “A duckling?” Chloe demanded in surprise. “I am David Qwaky!!”squeaked the little duckling. "I lived here for a long time. I went in here and was cursed by the ghosts that controlled this cottage so that I had to be here forever!! What bad luck is that?? Can you save me??” he called out. "Well, you had very bad luck!! We had worse. Um, how many of our friends just died, Allison??"said Chloe, sarcastic. Serim burst out crying. "How can you say that, Chloe?" Chloe looked discomfortable. "You should give David Kwaky a chance."said Minji. "Yes, he doesn't know what happened to us, remember??"said Allison. Chloe shouted, "I know, I should! But after what happened today, do you think it is easy to be unsarcastic?" "Come on, Chloe. I'm sure you'll be okay soon. Let's just don't try to mention our dead friends that I didn't manage to save, shall we?" Serim tried to say it in a cheerful tone but was unsuccessful. She burst out crying. "Stop blaming yourself!! The proffesers sent all of us to save the boys, remember?? Let's just try to be positive." said Chloe. "Umm... I know this is a bad time but I'm really sorry I upset you." David Kwaky said, nodding at Chloe. Chloe smiled at the tiny duckling. "Now we have to sleep to get a good start tomorrow." The girls and Tonny looked at each other. They didn't know what would happen while they were sleeping. "It's okay. In this room if I am with you, you won't get harmed. I promise you."the duckling smiled convincingly. "Okay, we sleep in this room tonight. I don't know why, but because this tiny duckling has the same name of the classmate we, meaning all of the people who came in here together, had in 5th grade. Do you remember David Kwak??" Tonny said. "Somehow, it convinces me that this tiny duckling has the spirit of our classmate, David." "I am David, Tonny. I knew you would recognize me."said the duckling. "I just changed my last name to Kwaky." Tonny stared at the duckling, not believing him."How..?" "David..." Serim murmured. "I thought I heard your scream long time ago. I thought you were dead." "What?!?"Allison, Minji, and Tonny shouted in unison. "David was one of the people who went in this cottage. I heard his scream..."Serim choked out the words as if it was the hardest thing to say ever. "It's okay, Serim."said the tiny duckling. "Now we have to go to sleep for tomorrow's adventure." Everyone fell into sleep, their heart as light as feather. ********************************************************************************************************They started to go into the next room. To Tonny, it seemed that it wasn’t scary to him at all now, after the meeting with David. Even David forgot that he was only safe in that one room. He forgot the frightening prophecy that he had heard long time ago when he was human. The phophecy was that if he left the room, he would die a painful death with his friend. When they were walking into the room cheerfully, suddenly, with Tonny was holding David, they fell into a hole that none of them noticed when they went in and he screamed as he fell in. The girls turned around in dread. They remembered the horrible note that Leo has left. When the girls peered into the hole, they found out that there were sharp needles poking out every where. Tonny was still alive, but he was having a painful death with a big needle through his back and right through his heart. Blood was squirting out everywhere and David the duck was alive with Tonny, lying down with a incredibly sharp needle through his heart like Tonny. David managed to turn into human while he was dying. David was dead. Tonny who was paralyzed when he has first fell in screamed a horrible scream, the horriblest one they had ever heard except Serim. This was the sound in her dream that Serim had dreamed every night after the other group of boys with David had screamed. Serim was trying to fall in herself when Chloe grabbed her with one strong hand. Chloe whispered urgently, "We have to be alive for the boys' sake!" Tonny has stopped screaming and he went limp like a paper doll. Serim was willing to take the risk and she picked up the boys gingerly. Both boys has turned into a duck when they died. Serim left the ducks on the side of the wall. Now all the boys were gone and only the girls were remaining, feeling sorrow for each boys that got murdered with no purposes. They did not see any death notes so they tried to open the door and bury all the boys but there was a sound, a horrible cackling sound coming out from the wall, “Haha~! Now for the girls… Do not get your hopes up becuase I am 100% sure that three will never get out of this place. You will have a painful death, more painfuller than the boy's death. I will kill you in random order unlike the boys...One of you will live...Only one of you...Haha~!” The girls was shocked, only four of them in this huge and echoing haunted place.and probably only one will be able to out of this mess and remember all the boys and girls that got killed or murdered. Feeling sorrow for the boys and feeling sorrow for themselves since the same things could just happen to them. Eventually, all the girls were soaked with tears and were not able to forget what had happened to the boys, not forgetting them even for one second. Fresh in their mind and wondering what will happened to them, they sat in a circle probably for the last time and promised as a friendly friend, alive, that they will never forget each other and will never betray each other. And if they are the last person, to pick up all the dead bodies of Paul, Ki Hwan, Leo, Tonny, and the left girls and bury it outside, miles away from this frightening cottage. They probably were having the last talk together as ALIVE friends. Continued at Scary Story 3...
